Five 09:30 cash-open sessions, each read at both durations Atlas IB offers, a 60-minute window and a 30-minute one. Ten readings, eight of them leans, the most on any week so far. Three reached their target, four reached neither, and one, Wednesday's hour, was marked against on the last bar of the session: the first Atlas-mode lean in the record to resolve the wrong way.
Every window that appeared, in the order the indicator produced them.

▲ / ▼ / ∅ are the measured shares of comparable historical windows in which the upper target was reached first, the lower target was reached first, or neither was reached by the session close; n is how many such windows sit behind them. Every reading on this page was taken with the target multiple set to ×0.5, the setting the Atlas IB handbook recommends for NQ and the default in the current build, unchanged since w/c 17 August; the first two weeks on the record ran on Auto. These captures are 5-minute charts, so outcome times are the bar in which the rail was crossed and are good to the bar. The session close is the 16:55 ET bar: a window that reaches neither rail is scored to that bar, and a rail first crossed on that bar counts. Wednesday's two windows both resolved on it.
Two comparisons appear in every capture, and they answer different questions. The box tag grades the window against its own last five sessions (💰 accumulation, ⚖️ normal, 🚀 expansion), while the status table's regime row grades it against the full seventeen-year history, and the two legitimately disagree: Monday's hour was ⚖️ Normal on the box and expanded in the table, Thursday's half hour the same, and Tuesday's and Wednesday's four windows all read normal in the table whatever the box said. With the multiple fixed at ×0.5 the regime no longer moves the rails, so it is reported here but it is not doing anything to the targets; Auto would have set ×1 on the compressed boxes and ×0.25 on the expanded ones. The Window strength row read 68% favoured-rail all week, #14 of 91 for the half hour and #11 of 91 for the hour; it describes the window rather than the day.
Two red folder USD releases this week, both marked against their day. Core PCE and the preliminary GDP revision at 08:30 ET on Wednesday, an hour before the window opened. The Fed chair's Jackson Hole speech and the preliminary benchmark payrolls revision at 10:00 ET on Friday, which was the minute the half-hour box closed and the middle of the hour's window; both Friday windows resolved after it.
The longer window waits for the whole first hour to complete before it commits. It gets a bigger, better-defined range to work from and, at a fixed multiple, a target that sits further away in points.
The session dropped through most of its range in the opening bars, and nothing in the rest of the hour extended it: the 60-minute box measured 296 points, exactly the half hour's, and the two windows shared their rails. ⚖️ NORMAL on the box, against a five-day average of 219; expanded on the table's ruler.
The read was 18 / 41 / 41 from 410 sessions, the same cell the hour returned on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of last week, now for a fourth consecutive session. Magnet on the lower rail, target 148 points under the box low. Price made its low inside the window, recovered through the morning, and spent the afternoon in the upper half of the box. Neither target was reached by the 16:55 bar.
Four draws from the cell now read not reached, reached, not reached, not reached. The one that reached was the 166-point box; the three that did not were 252, 296 and 366 points. The cell has not changed. The distance to the rail has, every time.
The hour pushed up first and then sold off, closing near its low with a 207-point range against a five-day average of 256. The table came back 11 up, 53 down, 36 neither: 53 of the 64 that resolve is 83% of the decided share, the strongest directional lean of the week, and the magnet printed on the lower rail with the target 103 points under the box.
The move continued for one bar. The wick just after 10:30 got to within roughly fifty points of the target and reversed, and the rest of the session ranged between the box low and its midpoint. Neither target was reached by the 16:55 bar.
An 83% decided share and a 36% neither share are two different statements about the same cell, and this session belonged to the second one. The lean was never marked against; it was simply not reached, which the table said would happen a little more than a third of the time.
Core PCE and the GDP revision printed at 08:30 ET, an hour before the window opened. The hour that followed was 177 points, 💰 ACCUMULATION against a 257 average, and the table read 13 / 49 / 38 from 435 sessions. 49 of the 62 that resolve is 79% of the decided share; magnet on the lower rail, target 88.5 points under the box.
Price never went there. It chopped inside the box until about 13:00, then ground higher for the whole afternoon, and the 16:55 bar, the last of the session, spiked through the upper rail at 29,421.75. The bar before it had topped out at 29,396.75, twenty-five points short. The mark is a magnet-and-cross: the first Atlas-mode lean in the record to resolve against.
It is worth saying plainly what the scoring did here. The session close is the 16:55 bar, and that bar crossed the rail, so the window is scored as reached against the lean. Under a 16:00 close it would have been scored as neither. We publish the rule and the result together, and the rule does not move to suit the result.
198 points, ⚖️ NORMAL on both rulers, and the first long read of the week: 49 up, 11 down, 40 neither, from the largest sample on the page at 620 sessions. 49 of the 60 that resolve is 82% of the decided share. Magnet on the upper rail, target 99 points above the box high.
The hour made its low early and its high late, and the afternoon kept lifting the range. The push into 16:00 got to within roughly twenty points of the target and faded; the session closed a few points above the box high. Neither target by the 16:55 bar.
Two things to carry forward. The 40% neither share was the second largest on the page, and it landed. And this cell, 49 / 11 / 40 from 620, comes back twice next week, which is where it gets its second and third draws under this lean test.
The Jackson Hole speech and the benchmark payrolls revision both landed at 10:00 ET, half way through the hour. The box that closed at 10:30 was 202 points, ⚖️ NORMAL, and it read 44 / 20 / 36 from 466 sessions: 44 of the 64 that resolve is 69% of the decided share, the narrowest margin of any lean this week, and enough. Magnet on the upper rail, target 101 points above the box.
Price sold off on the release, made the box low at about 10:15, and reversed. From the close of the window it ran up without a pause and took the target at about 11:00. Magnet and tick.
The half-hour window on the same morning had closed before the release, abstained, and was marked with a cross by the same move. That comparison is further down.
The shorter window commits half an hour earlier, from a smaller range, and its target is therefore usually nearer. It is a different measurement of the same morning, not a second opinion on it.
The first half hour held the whole of the day's opening drop: 296 points, 🚀 EXPANSION against a 195 average, and the 60-minute box that closed half an hour later was the same 296 points with the same rails. 28 / 53 / 19 from 440 sessions, the cell the half hour returned on all four of last week's mornings, came back for a fifth. Magnet on the lower rail, target 148 points under the box.
The low of the day was inside the window. Price recovered through the morning and ranged in the upper half of the box for the afternoon. Neither target by the 16:55 bar.
Five draws: reached, not reached, reached, not reached, not reached. The three that were not reached were the 215, 296 and 334-point boxes. The two that were reached were 161 and 165. Tuesday adds a sixth draw, from a 137-point box.
137 points, 💰 ACCUMULATION against a 234 average, and 28 / 53 / 19 for the sixth consecutive session. Magnet on the lower rail; at ×0.5 the target sat 68 points under the box, the nearest this cell has had.
Price broke the box low on the first bar after 10:00 and did not look back. The target went at about 10:20, the fastest resolution of the fortnight. Magnet and tick.
Six draws from one cell: three reached, three not, none against. The three that reached came from boxes of 137, 161 and 165 points; the three that did not from 215, 296 and 334. Six windows is not a rule. It is the same shape the record has shown since it started, and the box size was on the chart at 10:00 every time.
159 points, 💰 ACCUMULATION against a 229 average, and the strongest table of the week: 65 up, 16 down, 19 neither, from 635 sessions. 65 of the 81 that resolve is 81% of the decided share. Magnet on the upper rail, target 79.5 points above the box.
Price fell out of the box after 10:00 and spent the late morning and early afternoon below it, making the session low at about 13:00. The rally that followed ran for the rest of the day, and the 16:55 bar crossed the upper rail at 29,412.75; the 16:50 bar had stopped at 29,396.75, sixteen points short. Magnet and tick, on the last bar the session allows.
The hour on the same morning leaned the other way, and the same closing bar marked it against. Two windows, one bar, one hit and one miss, and both are scored to the same 16:55 rule. This cell, 65 / 16 / 19 from 635, comes back a week on Friday and is marked the other way.
181 points, ⚖️ NORMAL on the box and expanded on the table, and a read of 33 up, 50 down, 17 neither from 347 sessions, the table's medium sample bin. 50 of the 83 that resolve is 60% of the decided share, two short of the 62 the lean test wants, so both rails stayed grey and the window abstained.
The session ranged for most of the day, then rallied from about 15:00 and spiked through the upper rail at about 16:15. Because the lower rail held the larger share the mark prints as a ❌. No lean was offered.
The indicator grades the larger of two shares whether or not it cleared the lean test, and this page reports that grade as it printed. The cell comes back on Monday next week, abstains again, and reaches neither rail.
The half-hour box closed at 10:00, the minute the Jackson Hole speech and the payrolls revision were released. 141.5 points, 💰 ACCUMULATION against a 198 average, and a read of 38 / 48 / 15 from 371 sessions: 48 of the 86 that resolve is 56% of the decided share, well short of a lean. Both rails grey. ∅ 15% was the lowest neither share of the week, and it was right that something would happen.
Price dropped straight out of the box on the release and stopped just above the lower rail at about 10:15, then reversed and ran up through the upper rail at about 10:50. The larger share was the downside, so the mark is a ❌. The hour, which had the release inside its window rather than at its close, leaned long from 10:30 and was paid by the same move.
This is the cell's third appearance, all three abstains: Tuesday 11 August reached neither, and it comes back on Wednesday 2 September with the same grade. Every ❌ in the first forty windows bar one sits on a window that had abstained; the one is Wednesday's hour, above.
Wednesday's half hour leaned long and Wednesday's hour leaned short. Neither target had been reached at 16:50. The 16:55 bar crossed both upper rails, and the same five minutes scored one window ✅ and the other ❌.
Across the first three weeks, fifteen Atlas-mode windows had been paid eight times and unreached seven, and none had been marked against. That sentence ends here. Twenty-three Atlas-mode windows are now on the record: eleven paid, eleven unreached, one against. A cell that says 13% resolving to the 13 is not surprising; a record that had gone twenty-two windows without doing so was the unusual thing, and this week corrected it.
The repeat cells kept going. The half hour's 28 / 53 / 19 from 440 sessions came back on Monday and Tuesday, its fifth and sixth draws in seven sessions, and split them: not reached from a 296-point box, reached inside twenty minutes from a 137-point one. The hour's 18 / 41 / 41 from 410 came back on Monday for a fourth day and was not reached from 296 points. Six draws of the one cell now stand at three and three; four of the other at one and three. In every unreached case the box was the wider one.
Five things, from the week with the most leans so far and the first one beaten.
